De Drentse Monden en Oostermoer prepares for transport first turbine components

Several logistical preparations are being made to facilitate the transport of the first wind turbine components for De Drentse Monden en Oostermoer Wind Farm.

The preparations include modification of some roundabouts. Due to the size of the components, special transport is required. It concerns 12 special transports in total, including 3 rotorblades, 6 tower sections, the nacelle, hub and drive train. Not all the transports follow the same route but do all follow mainly the larger roads.

At the construction site at the Mondenweg near 1ste Exloërmond, the large installation crane that arrived earlier this month, will be placed in vertical position today,in order to make room for the arrival of the first components, according to the windfarm developer. Assembly of the wind turbine is depending on the weather circunstances.

In total, the wind farm will comprise 45 Nordex, type N131/3900, wind turbines. It is expected to be completed at the end of 2020 at the latest. Source: Windpark De Drentse Monden en Oostermoer
