Sealane Terminals in Eemshaven and Hulst Innovation Cable Equipment (HICE) are joining forces to improve the possibilities for storing, spooling and handling of mainly large subsea cables in Eemshaven.
Sealane is a company with its own terrain, 2 deep-sea quays and dry storage possibilities. HICE, based in Westeremden and Appingdam, is a producer of specialized equipment for cable spooling/handling and transporting of large and/or big cables.
Both companies reinforce each other through their knowledge and skills, which means that the various on- and offshore companies can arrange the handling from A to Z with one point of contact. Space is also available at the terminal in Eemshaven for (strategic) storage of cable, for example in case of damage, is possible.
With these ‘cable support’ options, these companies add something extra to the development of the Eemshaven into THE Offshore Wind port for the Northern Netherlands and Northern Germany. On Thursday, 27 June, both companies will organise, in cooperation with Groningen Seaports, NNOW (North Netherlands Offshore Wind) and ISKES Towage & Salvage, a presentation in the Eemshaven to elaborate on their plans.
